Retail in Rome, 2009

In Rome the name Castroni, since 1932, means roasted coffee, sweets, coffee shop and delicacies from all around the world. This project is inspired by the passion for food and the variety of food cultures.
The main counter is composed of two sheets of glass, with coffee beans trapped in between.
The project aims to be contemporary and functional, to be able to welcome the numerous daily visitors that enter with high expectations and to surprise them for the variety of products and for the uniqueness of the space.
The colors are derived from different shades of coffee and have been selected to identify the various functions in a large space, which should feel comfortable and never dispersive.
The space feels light yet complex in the system of shelves and iron boxes that exhibit a great number of products, which, without interruptions, can reveal all their variety.
