Luca Aureggi

Architect

Luca Aureggi graduated in Architecture from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1992, with a thesis in structural design.

He began his career working in renowned interior design and space planning firms, gaining significant experience in both design and construction aspects.

His professional journey officially started in 1995, with design assignments for private residential complexes commissioned by major Italian construction companies.

In 1997, he moved to New York, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 1998.
Following this, his American experience led him to become a partner at the Manhattan-based design firm X-arch, where he worked on numerous retail and private residential projects.

In 2000, he served as Project Manager for the Italian Pavilion at the Expo in Hannover.

In 2001, he co-founded Westway Architects with architect Maurizio Condoluci, with the goal of blending an Anglo-Saxon design approach with a Mediterranean sensitivity for materials and emotion.

During those years, he began an intensive collaboration with Sturchio Architects & Designers, working on large-scale projects such as the restyling of Ferrari’s GES (Gestione Sportiva) in Maranello, Maserati, and many other projects across Italy.

Over the course of ten years, the studio engaged in projects of various scales and types in Rome, Milan, and Venice, ranging from private residences to large residential complexes, offices, retail spaces, special projects, and landscaping.

The studio’s expertise spans from small- to large-scale projects, allowing for a unique ability to control detail in large interventions and to manage structure in smaller ones.
